VP Newsletter 16 May 2025 published on No Comments on VP Newsletter 16 May 2025

Message from the office

On Monday Grade 4KC presented a lovely assembly on Respect. Their message was on respecting yourself, others and your environment and this message was discussed at our morning lines too.

Respecting (and being kind) to ourselves is often a challenge for young girls and even grown women. It is important as parents to guide and encourage self-love and acceptance in our girls especially with social pressure and media bombarding us daily to behave and look a certain way.

It is critical for us to nurture self-respect and self-love and acceptance in our daughters from a young age and to highlight to our daughters that their uniqueness is what makes them special.

A reminder of all we can do to build confident and happy girls:

  • Model body positivity
  • Teach boundaries (and how to say no)
  • Balance the type of compliments you give (don’t only give superficial compliments)
  • Praise effort rather than outcome
  • Encourage new opportunities
  • Model positive self-talk
  • Model confidence

Newsletter Survey

In an effort to reduce our paper and printing costs we wish to ascertain what format would best suit our parent body to receive the newsletter each week. We also want to make sure that we do not exclude anyone from getting all the information that we share. We request that you complete the questionnaire at the end of this newsletter as a survey. It is imperative that all parents complete this. We thank you for your assistance.

VP’s Got Talent

After last year’s great success, we are excited to be having our second VP’s Got Talent in 2025. We encourage all girls who may be interested to enter to audition. Entry forms can be obtained from the school office. Start practising!!!!
