Message from the office
For the next two weeks our focus will be on exams and studying for our Grade 4-7 girls. As you are aware VP advocates for a cell phone/smart phone free childhood and we especially stress the importance of not having screen time to distract your girls when they are trying to study – not to mention the impact it can have on a good night’s sleep. Now more than ever, although they may not agree, it is important for you, to parent, and to take away that distraction from your girls for their benefit. This includes the TV (as well as the loud volume while you may be watching) and computers. It is the small sacrifices we all make as a family which stresses the importance for education, exam time and school performance. Give your girls a fighting chance and support their learning in every way possible for the next two weeks. NB!!! It is important as parents to remember that NOT all things are negotiable.
School and Office Hours
A reminder that school will end at 13:00 during exams and that there will be NO extramurals besides choir and orchestra practice. Please make arrangements for your daughter to be fetched at 13:00 so that she can have a short break at home before settling down and preparing for her next exam. We do not want children wasting an afternoon away waiting for their lift when they could be studying.
Please note the change in office hours for the rest of the year:
Monday to Thursday 07:00-15:30
Friday: 07:00-14:30.
There should be no children waiting outside school after the office closes as that would mean they have wasted two to two and a half hours of study time!
Please note that there will be NO newsletter on Friday, 7 November.
Music & Chamber Choir
Although there will be no extramurals during the exam period, Orchestra and Chamber Choir will continue, running from 13:00 to 14:00 on Fridays.
Farewell and Welcome back
We say farewell to Ms Trollip today who filled in for Mrs Dewey while she was on maternity leave. Thank you for the love and support you showed our girls, Ms Trollip. We warmly welcome Mrs Dewey back on Monday.
